Zoom Webinars pricing in India: what you actually pay

16 Oct 2026 · by WebinarX

Zoom Webinars is the default answer for anyone who has run a Zoom meeting and now wants a room where attendees watch rather than talk. The pricing is public, but it is in dollars, which makes it harder to compare with a rupee budget than it looks.

Every figure below was checked on Zoom's own pricing page on 12 October 2026. Prices change; check the live page before you buy.

The list price

Zoom Webinars for 500 attendees is listed at:

  • $89 per month on monthly billing
  • $66.67 per month when you pay for a year up front

At the ECB reference rate on 12 October 2026 (Rs 95.78 to the dollar), that is about Rs 8520 a month on monthly billing, or about Rs 6390 a month paid annually. Larger attendee tiers cost more.

Two things to add to that number before you compare it with a rupee price:

  • The exchange rate moves. A dollar subscription is a floating rupee cost.
  • Your bank's foreign-currency fee applies. Card issuers add a markup on international transactions; what you are charged is set by your bank, not by Zoom.

What the plan gives you

Zoom Webinars is a solid product. The list of what it does well is genuinely long: a stable room at scale, Q&A, polls, practice sessions, registration with approval, and a recording that files itself.

Zoom also sells Webinar Plus at $99 per month, which adds the ability to pre-record content and run it as though it were live, and Zoom does send follow-up emails to attendees and absentees.

If that is the shape of what you need and the dollar cost is comfortable, Zoom is a reasonable choice and this article is not going to pretend otherwise.

Where an Indian host feels the gap

The product differences that matter are not usually features. They are the parts of running a webinar in India that a global platform has no reason to solve:

  • Reminders on WhatsApp. In India the message that gets read is the one on WhatsApp, not the one in the inbox. Doing that with a global webinar platform means a second tool, a second subscription and a second place to debug.
  • A rupee invoice with GST. A GST invoice from an Indian vendor goes into your books and your input tax credit without a conversation with your accountant about foreign remittance.
  • UPI. Paying by UPI or an Indian card beats a dollar card charge that your bank may flag.

What WebinarX costs

For the sake of a straight comparison, our published pricing:

Plan Price Attendees
Starter Rs 2,999 per month 500 per webinar
Growth Rs 4,999 per month 2,000 per webinar
Webinar Plus Rs 32,000 per month 1,000 per webinar, with pre-recorded sessions
Enterprise On request Higher limits, contract billing

All of it in rupees, with a GST invoice, UPI or card. The full feature-by-feature picture, including where Zoom is the better answer, is on the Zoom comparison page.

How to decide

Ask three questions in this order:

  1. Who is your audience? If they are outside India, the WhatsApp advantage mostly disappears and the decision comes down to features and price.
  2. How are you reminding people today? If the honest answer is "one email", your show-up rate has more to gain from fixing that than from switching platforms at all.
  3. What does your accountant need? For many Indian businesses this alone settles it.
